Probably best known for his photographic image of Marilyn Monroe drawn with chocolate syrup, Brazilian conceptual artist Vik Muniz works with a variety of materials, from junk to earthworks, to create images that challenge the viewer’s notions of perception and illusion. He has had one-person exhibitions at numerous venues, including P.S. 1, the Museum of Modern Art and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Montreal and in San Diego.
