The time of invention is over

Para quem tiver interesse, o site Absolute Arts (www.absolutearts.com) publicou outro artigo meu, em inglês. Até o momento, já são 19 os comentários dos leitores, gente de diversos países que se interessa em debater civilizadamente o estado da arte contemporânea. O primeiro artigo que publiquei lá, The Bankruptcy of Criticism, em 29 de janeiro, provocou 24 comentários. Pena que, aqui no Brasil, em vez de debater, muita gente do mundo da arte prefira isolar qualquer idéia diferente com um muro de silêncio.

The time of invention is over by Luciano Trigo

The time of invention is over. We live in times of repetition, quoting, recycling and appropriation. Rigorously everything today is potentially recognizable and sellable as art by the system. Everything, even paintings and sculptures!

We lost historical perspective. We do not even deny the tradition, we simply ignore it. The only interest of all the artistic movements of the past concerns the repertoire of ingredients provided for the post-modern recombinations. Nevertheless, to understand the implications of this new scenario, we must interpret it historically.
